GKCBCA Membership

The Greater Kansas City Basketball Coaches Association (GKCBCA) was founded for the purpose of supporting and improving the quality of basketball in the Greater Kansas City area. With more than 500 coaches involved, a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of officers and representatives from Missouri, Kansas and at-large members, governs the GKCBCA. The foundation operates with assistance of five committees: Finance & Administration, Scholarship, All-Star Challenge, Special Awards, and Golf Tournament. The GKCBCA currently represents over 129 high schools, as well as several colleges/universities, youth leagues/organizations and corporate sponsor members including our title sponsors, Hy-Vee and Pepsi.

What we do:
	*	Promote strong relationships with all basketball-related organizations.
	*	Create educational opportunities for student-athletes and coaches.
	*	Recognize excellence at both the playing and coaching levels.
	*	Support other charitable organizations.

Benefits of being a GKCBCA Member:
1.	Fall Basketball Coaching Clinics
	*	GKCBCA members receive a FREE invitation to the first two Fall Coaching Clinics
	*	Speakers include Division I, Division II and Junior College Head Basketball Coaches
	*	Corporate Sponsor members have the opportunity to set up display booths and promote special purchasing opportunities to GKCBCA members
2.	Opportunity for your players to play in the annual All-Star Classic Basketball Game
	*	Coaches must be members of the GKCBCA for their players to be eligible to play in the annual Hy-Vee/Pepsi All-Star Challenge
	*	GKCBCA member coaches are eligible to nominate players for selection to play in the Hy-Vee/Pepsi All-Star Challenge and have the opportunity to serve on several GKCBCA committees
3.	GKCBCA All-Star Banquet
	*	Opportunity to purchase ticket (based on availability) to attend the annual All-Star Banquet. This banquet is held to honor the players and coaches selected to participate in the Hy-Vee/Pepsi All-Star Challenge; recognition of the Hy-Vee/Pepsi GKCBCA All-Academic Team and Scholarship winners; the announcement of the DiRenna Award winners, the presentation of several coaching awards including the Eddie Ryan Award, Tom Colwell Lifetime Achievement Award, Walt Tylicki Memorial Award and the induction of the annual class into the GKCBCA Hall of Fame
4.	Opportunity to win the Eddie Ryan Award
	*	Awarded to GKCBCA Best Male and Female Coach of the Year
5.	Opportunity to nominate your senior players for selection to the Hy-Vee/Pepsi GKCBCA All-Academic team and Scholarship Program
	*	Ten members of the All-Academic Team receive $1,000.00 scholarships and two (one boy and one girl) receive the Barrett Wepler #4 Award and an additional $1,000 scholarship
6.	Opportunity to become inducted into the GKCBCA Hall of Fame
7.	Opportunity to announce your basketball camps, youth leagues or tournaments on the GKCBCA website

Membership Levels
Individual Member: $20
*Staff Membership (head coach and three assistants): $50
Corporate: $250

Notes: *Boys & girls coaches are considered separate staffs;
membership dues must be renewed annually each September 1.
